Stalking Stags

5 comments:

  1. Hello Duncan
I bet your heart almost stopped when you spotted this stag!
Did you shoot it? That would be a good set of antlers for you to mount!
Congratulations on being a winner in the Rural Safe stag colouring competition.

  2. Hi Duncan
Did this photo look similar to the Stag you saw? No wonder it made your heart nearly stop? Did you mange to get close enough to take a shot?
Can you explain to me what a 'clean' 14 pointer means? I am still learning hunting terminology!
    Bye for now

  3. Hi Mrs Bennett
Yes that photo did look really similar to the stag.
But talking about the shot, we didn't bring the gun because we were just showing Mum all of the stags.
A clean 14 pointer is a 14 pointer that is perfectly in line and no broken tines.

  4. Kia ora Duncan,
Wow! What a thing to see while out. Is a 14 pointer the biggest they get to?
Are you able to go and edit your blog post and add how you created this writing and what your used to get the photo of the stag. Did you use Google Docs or Drawings? Where did you get the photo from?
Keep blogging. You are doing a great job of sharing your work.

  5. HI Duncan, I like the alliteration in your title. Was the head symmetrical? I haven't been out in a long time to see wild deer.
